Late Light Ending

Everyone knows that there's more day time in the summer than the winter, right? And a lot of people know that during the winter in most of Alaska and the Arctic Circle there is almost no light as well. And if there's almost no daylight in the Arctic during the winter, shouldn't that mean that during the summer there should be almost no night time?

If both are true (and they are) then that should mean that as it gets more toward summer and we get farther north, there's longer daylight. I knew that there was daylight up till at least 10:00 Pacific Time at the moment, but I never really thought about it. So when we turned off the lights in our bedroom last night around 8:45 and we could see around the room like it was starting toward evening but wasn't yet fully past afternoon...it kind of startled me a little bit.

It's getting annoying being sent to bed when it's still light out, but when we've got the longest daylight of our trip there will be light in the sky for at least 21 out of 24 hours a day!!!
